Julia Roberts offered a hint of what’s to come at Versace under the creative direction of Dario Vitale with the look she displayed at the “After the Hunt” photo call at the Venice Film Festival on Friday — and her ensemble was rounded out by woven leather shoes.

Debuting Dario Vitale for Versace pieces, Roberts embraced business casual dressing with a blazer and jeans grounded by leather heels in a rich earthy brown shade. Named the Vienna 95 style, the heel silhouette featured an open strappy design in back and a pointed toe in front; the vamp embraced textural intrigue with rows of weaving.
The vamp cut away, revealing the sides of the foot, and a simple slender ankle strap secured the look while a classic stiletto heel offered Roberts an extra boost. The actress was styled by Elizabeth Stewart for the occasion.

The woven look is doing well right now in the footwear industry — it was popular among spring 2026 collections at the Atlanta Shoe Market this month, and Keen released a sneaker-loafer on Thursday with a handwoven upper.
Roberts’ outfit otherwise consisted of a tailored blue wool jacket, a multicolored striped collared shirt showing off the butter yellow trend and a pair of slim dark wash jeans accented by a heritage gold buckle belt. She also toted a top handle leather bag featuring a Medusa twist lock.

Vitale’s first Versace collection is expected to be showcased through an intimate event, rather than a runway show, on Sept. 26 amidst Milan Fashion Week. The designer, who was formerly at Miu Miu, started his new role at Versace as chief creative officer on April 1, after it was announced that Donatella Versace was stepping down from creative direction and becoming chief brand ambassador.
