Kanawha County Commission award supports West Virginia Music Hall of Fame
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — Kanawha County officials have made a move to preserve the Mountain State’s musical heritage.
The Kanawha County Commission has approved a $25,000 funding request for the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame, according to a news release from the organization.
Directors said that money will be used to compensate docents at the Hall of Fame and the West Virginia Museum of Music, both located at the Charleston Town Center.
The Hall of Fame celebrated its 10th induction ceremony this year, which featured a performance from country music star Luke Brian.
Last year, museum staff reported seeing nearly 15,000 visitors.
