Sharing serene images from a beach getaway, he described his journey as one filled with “internal evaluations, revelations, and resolutions.” According to him, this phase feels like a fresh chapter, “the 2.0 version” of his life, where he has learned to value what truly matters and let go of what doesn’t.

Johar also made an important announcement: he has promised himself that 2026 will mark his comeback on set. For him, filmmaking is not just a profession but his true calling. In his words, being on set is his “happy space” and “the only calling in life.”

He stressed that storytelling and Hindi cinema are in his DNA, something he can never walk away from. He added that his return will focus on creating stories rooted in the charm of traditional Bollywood, without worrying about external approval.

In his note, Karan Johar admitted that his words might appear like scattered thoughts, but they actually come from a place of deep clarity. “Seizing the moment not just the day,” he wrote.

Even as he prepares for his next creative phase, the filmmaker recently looked back on one of his most talked-about films. On August 11, he celebrated 19 years of ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ (KANK), a movie that sparked conversations for its bold theme and emotional depth. Sharing a nostalgic note, he said that the film will always hold a special place in his heart.

Calling it a “bold and brave” project, he remembered how fortunate he felt to work with an extraordinary cast and crew. He described ‘KANK’ as a love story that continues to resonate even after nearly two decades.
