French luxury group Kering has named Francesca Bellettini the new chief executive of its flagship Gucci brand, replacing Stefano Cantino after just nine months in the role. The change marks the first major management shake-up under new group CEO Luca de Meo.

Italian-born Bellettini, who began her career as a banker before advancing through Kering’s portfolio, has served as one of the group’s two deputy chief executives since 2023. She oversaw several key houses, including Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta.
Jean-Marc Duplaix will remain Kering’s chief operating officer, the company said. It added that both Bellettini’s and Duplaix’s former deputy CEO roles will be eliminated under de Meo’s new structure.
Bellettini’s move to Gucci, which has experienced double-digit sales declines in recent years after a long period of pre-pandemic growth, comes as Kering pushes to revive the performance of its once high-flying brand.
The leadership change also clarifies executive responsibilities within de Meo’s team — a key demand from analysts and investors following his recent appointment.
