Kirchner of Men’s Lacrosse Named Landmark Defensive Athlete of the Week

Sophomore goalie Carsen Kirchner of The University of Scranton men’s lacrosse team led the Royals to another 2-0 week against two Landmark Conference opponents and has been named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 13, 2025.
This marks the first career Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week award for the Cold Spring Harbor, NY native.
In Wednesday’s 12-4 win over Drew University, Kirchner allowed just four goals in 30 shots face with 14 saves.
During Saturday’s game against Elizabethtown College, Kirchner played 54 minutes in a key win for the Royals. Kirchner let up just four goals on 22 shots face, while recording 11 saves in the dominant 14-4 victory. Kirchner posted his season best goal allowed average of 10.18 in the win against the Blue Jays.
Kirchner and the Royals are currently on a seven game win streak and are undefeated in conference play.
The Royals will look to carry momentum and keep the win streak alive against Wilkes University on Wednesday, April 16, at 6:00 p.m. at Weiss Field.
