The 9th edition of the Kohima Lotha Hoho (KLH) inter-colony Father’s Football Tournament commenced today at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Khima.
Addressing the inaugural session, Orenthung Lotha, Commissioner & Secretary for IPR and President, Lotha Officer’s Association urged upon the gathering to introspect on how they struggled and evolved from the past.
He stressed on the need to adapt the advancement of life coming at par with the others.
Stressing on the country’s vision on Viksit Bharat, Lotha urged upon every individual to contribute to the society in achieving a developed country.
Meanwhile, he wished all members a jubilee blessings as KLH will be celebrating its 50th years of its existence this year.
Earlier, in his welcome address, KLH Chairman, K. N. Mhonthung Lotha briefed on how the tournament started, creating a platform to gather and have fellowship through sports, while bringing closeness and unity among ourselves.
14 colonies (team) are vying for the championship.
He urged the participant to maintain the spirit of understanding and friendship among themselves.
The tournament, organised by Kohima Lotha Hoho, will conclude on September 9.
In the opening match, defending champion Goldfinch Club, New Reserve defeated Rhujung United, GHS 2 – 1 while Kohima Lotha Officer’s Football team registered win over Bayavu FC 2-1.
Earlier in an exhibition match, the gathering witnessed an exhilarating 60 minutes game played between Kohima Lotha Hoho and Dimapur/Chumoukedima Lotha Hoho (combined).
