Korea Tourism Organization appoints Hina Khan as Honorary Ambassador for India, ET TravelWorld

Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has officially appointed Indian actress and media personality Hina Khan as the Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism for India, marking a strategic move to strengthen Korea’s appeal as a travel destination among Indian travellers. The appointment ceremony was held on 9th May 2025 at the KTO Seoul Center (HiKr Ground), where Hina Khan was welcomed by Andrew JH Kim, Acting Executive Vice President of the International Tourism Division at KTO.

As an Honorary Ambassador, Hina Khan will promote Korea’s diverse attractions, including its rich cultural heritage, K-Drama filming locations, K-Pop hotspots, and unique vegetarian cuisine, which resonate with the growing interest in Korean culture among Indian audiences. Her recent week-long familiarization trip to Korea, exploring destinations like Seoul, Gangwon-do, and Incheon, showcased these experiences.

Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director – India & SAARC Countries, Korea Tourism Organization, said, “We are delighted to welcome Hina Khan as our Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism. Her strong connection with young audiences and vibrant storytelling style make her an ideal representative to promote Korea’s offerings.”

Hina Khan expressed her excitement, stating, “Being appointed as the Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism is a great honour. Korea’s stunning landscapes, cultural depth, K-Drama, and K-Pop have always fascinated me, and I look forward to sharing my journey with Indian travellers.”

This partnership is part of KTO’s ongoing efforts to engage Indian travellers through curated travel content, further promoting Korea as a vibrant and accessible destination.
