KPMG appoints Pukar Mehta as UK head of media strategy

Pukar Mehta has been named as the leader of KPMG’s media strategy team in the UK. As part of the strategy group in KPMG’s deal advisory business, he will help organisations in the media sector with their growth strategies, mergers and acquisitions and post-deal integration plans.

Mark Allcroft, head of TMT for deal advisory, commented, “Pukar’s rare mix of industry and consulting experience across the media sector sets him up well to lead our Media Strategy team, helping clients with a range of work from transactions through to transformations.”

Mehta re-joins the Big Four firm as a partner, bringing 25 years of experience in professional services and the media. That includes 15 years at ITV, where he led non-US acquisitions and held senior roles including commercial director of ITV Studios and COO of production companies MultiStory Media and Twofour, both owned by ITV Studios.

Prior to his roles at ITV, Mehta worked at KPMG for eight years, in the transaction strategy team having commenced his career at fellow consulting firm Accenture. His background includes strategy, M&A, operations and integration, bringing together a blend of consulting and industry expertise.

Mehta added, “It is great to be able to rejoin KPMG, especially at a time when the media industry is undergoing one of its most transformative eras. I am looking forward to working with my new team to support clients with the strategic insight needed to help them navigate the changes the sector is experiencing.”

Pukar also serves as a governor and audit committee member at the National Film and TV School. His arrival marks the latest investment in KPMG’s strategy group, a key part of the firm’s advisory business.

Hannah Twist, head of the strategy group, concluded, “It’s fantastic to have the depth of his expertise in the team to support clients setting themselves up for the future.”
