‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Becomes Netflix’s Most Popular Animated Film of All Time
As fans clamor for a sequel announcement for KPop Demon Hunters, it seems Netflix is going to have no choice but listen to their demands. The streamer has enjoyed the praise from the fantasy action flick, which follows a popular K-Pop group that also hunt down demons, garnering a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, KPop Demon Hunters has reached a milestone that puts it in a league of its own in Netflix’s vast library.
As reported by Animation Magazine, KPop Demon Hunters has become the most popular animated film of all time on Netflix. The fantasy musical has spent the last six weeks on the streamer’s Top 10 list, and it seems the critically acclaimed film has shown no signs of stepping down from the streaming charts. KPop Demon Hunters has reportedly reached 26.3 million views since releasing on the platform on June 20. It can sometimes be difficult to quantify success in the streaming world, especially when Netflix tends to hide the reality of their viewership numbers, but it is safe to say that KPop Demon Hunters has been an impressive accomplishment.

Is ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Getting a Sequel From Netflix?
Netflix
During an interview with ScreenRant, KPop Demon Hunters co-director Maggie Kang answered a question about a possible sequel to the hit animated musical. While Netflix has not commented on a follow-up film, it appears that the creative team is more than open to revisiting the world inspired by Korean culture and history. Kang says that there is still plenty to explore, whether they are “side stories” or otherwise.
“Always. There are always side stories, and there are things we’ve thought of while making this one. There are a lot of questions that are answered, but not fully. I think there are a lot of pockets that we can explore.”
KPop Demon Hunters is more than ripe to become an animated film franchise. Whether it is at Netflix, or another distributor/studio, fans will be ready to revisit the demon-hunting music group on whatever adventure they find themselves next.
