MINNEAPOLIS — Concordia linebacker Kyle Mages had two interceptions, including a pick-six, to spark the Cobbers to a 26-7 victory against Augsburg on Saturday in MIAC football at Edor Nelson Field.

Mages returned an interception 17 yards for a touchdown to give Concordia a 13-0 lead with 7 minutes, 28 seconds remaining in the second quarter. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker also had nine tackles, including 1.5 for a loss.

The Cobbers (5-2, 4-2 MIAC) have won four of their past four games. They next host Bethel at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Jake Christiansen Stadium.

Cobbers sophomore Mason Hughes rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on 16 attempts. Sophomore quarterback Nick Walter added a 6-yard touchdown run and Ron Gallegos caught a 27-yard TD from QB Jersey Selzler.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
