Lady Lions get new hockey schedule | News, Sports, Jobs

UNIVERSITY PARK – On Wednesday afternoon Atlantic Hockey America announced its complete 2025-26 women’s hockey schedule with each team playing each other a total of four times, twice at home and twice on the road.

“We are driven to build the most competitive non-league as possible, in addition to playing our stout AHA schedule, in order to prepare us for our goal of playing at Pegula Ice Arena during the last weekend of year,” stated head coach Jeff Kampersal.

The Nittany Lions will play 15 games at Pegula Ice Arena with 19 games on the road. The non-conference portion of the schedule is highlighted by trips to 2025 national runner-up and two-time national champion (2022 & 2024) Ohio State, perennial power Northeastern and a home-and-home with Cornell.

Penn State begins the campaign with two-straight non-conference series opening at home against St. Lawrence on September 25-26 before traveling north to Vermont on October 3-4. The three-time defending AHA champion, Nittany Lions, begin conference play the following week with a familiar face in former associate head coach, Allison Coomey and Delaware on October 10-11 as the Blue Hens embark on their first season in the AHA and at the NCAA Division I level in 2025-26.

PSU then returns home to Hockey Valley the following weekend as conference play rolls on with consecutive series at Pegula Ice Arena against Mercyhurst (October 17-18) and Lindenwood (October 24-25).

A Halloweekend series at Robert Morris (October 31 – November 1) is followed by a bye week before Penn State hosts Syracuse on November 14-15. PSU then travels to RIT (November 21-22) before wrapping up the opening semester of play with a post-Thanksgiving trip to Northeastern (November 28-29).

The Nittany Lions open the second half at home with a single game against Cornell on December 30 before traveling to Ohio State to begin a seven-game road swing against the Buckeyes on January 2-3. The Blue & White then travel to Mercyhurst (January 9-10) and Syracuse (January 16-17) before a single non-conference game at Cornell on January 20 concludes the road trip.

Penn State returns home for a second series against Delaware on January 23-24 before concluding the month against RMU in Hockey Valley on January 30-31. The Nittany Lions then travel to Lindenwood on February 6-7 before the regular-season comes to a close at home on February 13-14 against RIT.

The AHA quarterfinals are scheduled for February 20 with the best-of-three semifinal series set to take place February 27 – March 1 with the AHA Championship decided on March 7.

The NCAA Regionals are set for March 12-14 with the 2026 women’s Frozen Four, hosted by Penn State University, taking place March 20-22 at Pegula Ice Arena.
