Lava’s Prowatch X launched India with IP68 rating, more than 110 sports modes: Details  – Technology News

Lava, the homegrown smartphone company, has launched its flagship smartwatch, the Prowatch X, under the Prowatch sub-brand, targeting the affordable smartwatch market in India. Priced at Rs 4,499, the Prowatch X combines health tracking features, attractive design, and decent battery performance, making it a strong contender in the budget smartwatch market.  

The Prowatch X has a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466×466 pixels and 500 nits of peak brightness. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Powered by a dual-core ATD3085C processor, the Prowatch X ensures compatbility with both iOS and Android smartphones. 

The company claims the smartwatch has a 300mAh battery that provides up to 10 days of usage on a single charge. For those using GPS tracking or engaging in Bluetooth calling, the device offers 17 hours of GPS usage and 5 hours of Bluetooth calling. 

In terms of health and fitness tracking, the Prowatch X includes a HX3960 PPG sensor for heart rate and SpO2 monitoring, a six-axis accelerometer, and an altimeter for tracking activities and elevation. The smartwatch tracks over 110 sports and workouts, while offering metrics like VO2 Max, HRV, body energy monitoring, and sleep tracking. It also features intelligent exercise recognition for a more personalised fitness experience. The Prowatch X features an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Availability and discounts 

The Prowatch X will be available for pre-order from February 15 to February 18, with an instant Rs 1,000 discount for customers using any bank debit or credit card. It will officially go on sale via Flipkart starting February 21, 2025, and will be available in Cosmic Grey, with strap options in metal, nylon, and silicone. 

Techarc benchmarking reveals Prowatch X’s accuracy 

In a benchmarking study by Techarc, the Prowatch X was compared to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the CMF by Nothing Watch Pro 2 to measure its performance in key health metrics. The study found that the Prowatch X outperformed the CMF by Nothing Watch Pro 2 by 36% in terms of measurement accuracy, bringing it closer to the Apple Watch Ultra 2- one of the top smartwatches in the industry. 

The study showed that Prowatch X delivered near-identical results to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in fitness tracking, activity tracking, and sleep monitoring, with only a small deviation in heart rate measurements. In terms of GPS connectivity, the Prowatch X performed closely to the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
