Léa Nature taps into perfumery market with Berdoues acquisition
Compagnie Léa Nature, a leader in organic and natural products, is boldly stepping into the perfume market. In a strategic move, the company has snapped up a 60% stake in the Berdoues group, previously owned by Bpifrance and the investment funds GSO Capital and Multicroissance.
Already a powerhouse in food, personal care, health, and home care, Léa Nature is now accelerating its growth by adding fragrance expertise to its portfolio.
The financial details of the deal remain under wraps.
Complementary fit
Berdoues Parfums et Cosmétiques, which employs nearly 100 people, generated EUR 20 million in revenue in 2024. According to a press release from Léa Nature, Sophie Berdoues-Coudouy — a fourth-generation family member and current CEO — will retain a significant stake and continue to play an active role in the company’s governance.
For its part, Compagnie Léa Nature employs 2,000 people and operates 20 production sites across France. In 2024, it reported revenues of EUR 498 million.
Founded in 1902 in Toulouse, the Berdoues Group is an iconic name in France’s perfume and cosmetics industry. It develops and distributes its brands across both mass-market channels (Les Petits Plaisirs, Blondépil) and prestige beauty retails (Berdoues, IKKS Parfums).
Through the transaction, Léa Nature is expanding into the selective retail channel while also strengthening its foothold in natural and responsible beauty products across mass distribution.
“The merger with the Berdoues Group is a natural fit, as it brings together the complementary activities and expertise of our two companies,” says Charles Kloboukoff, President and Founder of Compagnie Léa Nature. “We will particularly benefit from Berdoues’ longstanding expertise in natural perfumery.”
