‘Lokah’: Jayaram praises the Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer, says ‘It feels like a 100 crore budget film’ | Malayalam Movie News

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Malayalam superstar Jayaram has openly praised the recently released Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer ‘Lokah’s technical brilliance.Speaking at the Kerala press meet of his upcoming film ‘Mirai’, Jayaram compared ‘Lokah’ to big-budget projects that often fail to impress despite massive spending.

“I believe it’s a film made on a Rs 30 crore budget. But doesn’t it give us the effect of a film made on a budget of over Rs 100 crore? The technical team deserves 100% applause, and the whole world should watch and learn from it,” he said. According to him, Lokah offers far more value and quality compared to some projects that spend Rs 100 crore yet deliver effects worth only Rs 25 crore.

Box office records continue to grow

Directed by Dominic Arun, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ is receiving much love from the audiences and celebs as well. Recently the Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt praised the film. She shared a note on social media that read, “Such a fresh blend of mythic folklore & mystery! So happy to see the love it’s getting. This is a step in cinema that I will always be eager to show my love & support for!”The ‘Jolly LLB 3’ actor Akshay Kumar wrote on social media, “Talent runs in the family…suna thaa, ab dekh liya (heard before, saw now)! Hearing lovely things about the brilliant acting chops of @kalyanipriyan, Priyadarshan Sir’s daughter. My best wishes to her and the entire team of #Lokah on their Hindi version release. More power.”According to the Sacnilk website, on its 16th day alone, the film earned Rs 3.85 crore (early estimates), pushing its domestic tally across languages to Rs 105.55 crore.Meanwhile, following the success of ‘Lokah’, the makers have introduced the characters Odiyan and Chathan played by the actors Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas in the movie, respectively.
