Louis Vuitton expands its Mon Monogram personalisation service

Personalisation has been at the heart of Louis Vuitton since the very beginning. Born out of necessity, it began with markings on trunks — a practical solution to distinguish one traveller’s luggage from another. But over time, it became something more: a signature of individuality, a creative gesture, and a mark of belonging.

Take, for instance, the 1901 Gaston-Louis Vuitton Steamer bag, adorned with a bold graphic atop canvas. Or the 1911 trunk crafted for couturier Paul Poiret, with his name painted in large, unmistakable letters. What began as a functional tool evolved into an emblem of expression — and an enduring house tradition.

In 2008, this tradition took on a new form with the launch of Mon Monogram, a fully dedicated personalisation service that allowed clients to customise their Louis Vuitton pieces with colour, initials, and design.

Now, the House takes it even further.
