Louis Vuitton to enter beauty with Pat McGrath at the helm

Louis Vuitton announced on Wednesday that it will expand into the world of beauty this fall. Leading the new venture is Dame Pat McGrath, the British makeup artist, who joins as Louis Vuitton’s creative director of makeup.

McGrath has collaborated with numerous designers and fashion houses, including Louis Vuitton. In 2014, she was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), and in 2021, she became the first and only makeup artist to receive the honorary title of “Dame” from Queen Elizabeth II. She launched her own brand, Pat McGrath Labs, in 2015.

“After more than 20 years backstage at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to be part of the launch of Louis Vuitton beauty,” said McGrath. “Blending craftsmanship, creativity, and groundbreaking innovation, what we are about to unveil will take beauty to an entirely new dimension.”

Beauty has long been intertwined with Louis Vuitton’s heritage of travel. The house has crafted elegant cases to protect and transport beauty essentials, perfumes, and delicate cosmetics since its inception.
