Loyola School wins Bishwadeep Sarkar Environment Quiz, Sacred Heart Convent emerges runner-up

Jamshedpur, Aug 13: Loyola School clinched the top spot at the Bishwadeep Sarkar Memorial Inter-School Environment Quiz, held on August 13, 2025, at D.B.M.S. English School. Sacred Heart Convent School secured second place, while Rajendra Vidyalaya took third. The annual event is organised in memory of Bishwadeep Sarkar, a beloved former student, and was attended by his father, Sunil Sarkar, former Vice-Principal of D.B.M.S. English School.

The quiz was conducted by Quizmaster Saptashwa Dasgupta, with student volunteer Harshit Vig assisting. True to tradition, the host school refrained from competing, offering the platform to students from other institutions in Grades VIII to X.

Nineteen schools participated in the preliminary round, with five advancing to the finals — Narbheram Hansraj English School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, Kerala Public School (Gamharia), Sacred Heart Convent School, and Loyola School.

The grand finale featured five challenging rounds — ecology, science trivia, global environment, natural marvels of India, and a mixed bag of topics. The competition tested participants’ quick thinking, accuracy, and environmental awareness.

Loyola School dominated with 160 points, followed by Sacred Heart Convent School at 40 points and Rajendra Vidyalaya with 35 points.

The event was graced by the D.B.M.S. Management Committee, Principal Rajani Shekhar, and Vice Principal P.K. Sahu, whose support ensured smooth execution. More than just a contest, the quiz promoted environmental consciousness and inspired students to work towards a sustainable future.

The winners were honoured for their exceptional knowledge and commitment, bringing the spirited competition to a fitting close.
