Hadfield brings nearly a decade of experience in financial management and corporate strategy within the company. He is a certified accountant with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, as well as a Higher Diploma in Accounting, from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.

Prior to joining Volpara in 2016, he worked at global accounting firms Ernst & Young (EY) and Deloitte, accumulating extensive experience in financial operations across South Africa, New Zealand, the Bahamas, and the U.S.

Since joining Volpara, Hadfield has played a pivotal role in transforming the company’s revenue model to a subscription-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) structure. Under his leadership, the company’s annual revenue has surged from $1 million to $30 million, while Volpara’s market capitalization has grown more than fourfold from 70 million Australian dollars (63.4 billion won) to 300 million Australian dollars.

Hadfield has also led several successful mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and played a key role in Lunit’s acquisition of Volpara. He is currently spearheading the post-merger integration (PMI) process, reinforcing his capability to lead the company effectively in his new role as CEO.

“Hadfield is the ideal leader for Volpara, as he possesses deep insight into the company’s growth trajectory and business operations,” Lunit CEO Brandon Suh said. “With his expertise in finance and M&A, we anticipate achieving groundbreaking results in the global medical AI market.”

Commenting on his new role, Hadfield stated, “I am committed to leveraging my extensive understanding of Volpara’s medical and U.S. operations to expand our global influence alongside Lunit.”

The company’s priority will be to realize synergies between the two companies at an early stage and deliver greater value to its medical AI clients worldwide, Hadfield added.

Meanwhile, current CEO Teri Thomas will serve as Lunit’s Chief Business Officer until May after stepping down as Volpara’s CEO in April.
