A man went the extra mile for his Easter treat by travelling to Paris to purchase a nearly £200 Louis Vuitton chocolate bag. While many enjoyed their Easter chocolates over the weekend, Carmie Sellitto, known for reviewing new luxury foods on social media, took indulgence to another level with an edible designer delicacy.
In a TikTok video posted on Sunday, April 20, Carmie, from London, shared his thoughts on the Louis Vuitton chocolate creation, shaped like an Easter egg. It is priced at 225 Euros, equivalent to £192.90.
Carmie expressed in the clip: “I had to travel all the way to Paris just to get this because they don’t sell it anywhere else. It smells so chocolatey. I’ve never ever had some sort of chocolate from like Louis Vuitton so I’m really intrigued to know what that tastes like as well.”
He then unveiled the chocolate bag from its cardboard packaging, exclaiming that it was “actually insane.” He noted its substantial weight and the intricate detail of the chocolate zip line.
The food critic felt as though he could unzip the chocolate bag, and he couldn’t help but admire its aesthetics, saying: “It’s so beautiful that I don’t even want to bite into it.” Grasping it by the handles, he was pleasantly surprised by its substantial feel, remarking that it felt “like a real bag” and not at all “flimsy.”

However, Carmie’s attempt to unzip the bag was thwarted when he discovered the zipper wasn’t functional. Upon tasting the chocolate creation, he began with the handles, exclaiming: “That is some good chocolate!”
He then moved on to the top part of the Easter egg-shaped chocolate bag, revealing an additional layer of chocolate within. To fully inspect the interior, he dropped the entire bag onto a table, causing it to crack open.
Inside, Carmie found a smooth chocolate layer which he likened to leather. Taking a bite from this section, his pupils widened, a clear sign of his delight.
He expressed his approval, saying: “That is beautiful. So inside the bag it’s like a hazelnut praline which is one of my favourites.”
He also sampled the outer layer of the bag, adorned with the iconic Louis Vuitton logo, and appreciated the satisfying “crunch.” Wrapping up his TikTok review, Carmie gave it a resounding ten out of ten rating.
He gave a shout-out to Louis Vuitton and to the chocolatier, Maxime Frédéric, apologising for any mispronunciation and clarifying: “Shout-out to Louis Vuitton and shout-out to the chef or chocolate maker who is Maxime Frédéric, sorry if I pronounce it wrong. I’m Italian, not French.”
On their official website, Louis Vuitton states: “From Normandy to Paris, Maxime Frédéric, Pastry Chef of the Year according to the Gault & Millau 2022 Guide and pastry chef at Cheval Blanc Paris, has brought his renowned expertise to Louis Vuitton, combining savoir-faire with emblematic signatures for iconic, delectable creations.” It’s been disclosed that Frédéric’s ‘Chocolate Egg Bag’ takes inspiration from an “iconic model created by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of the Women’s collections.”
