Man Utd Duo Return to Training Ahead of Athletic Bilbao After 21 Games Out

Manchester United duo Matthijs de Ligt and Amad Diallo were both spotted in training ahead of their game against Athletic Club in the Europa League semi-final later this week.

United are preparing for what is undoubtedly their biggest game of the season so far. The Red Devils are battling in the bottom half of the Premier League and have been knocked out of all domestic cup competitions, so their campaign rests on trying to win the Europa League.

Amad and De Ligt have been on the treatment table of late, with United missing their presence in the starting XI. The game against Athletic might come too soon for them, but it will be a boost to have them around the group for the final weeks of the season.

Spotted: Man Utd Duo Seen in Training

De Ligt and Amad are with the group

In positive news for United fans, both De Ligt and Amad have been spotted in training ahead of their clash with Athletic Club. According to Ryan from The United Stand, it remains unclear whether they will be involved against Athletic Club later this week…

Amad and De Ligt have missed a total of 21 games between them, with the former being out for 15 matches and the latter being on the treatment table for six. It’s a huge boost for Amorim, even if the duo are unavailable to face Athletic Club in the first leg.

Importantly, with another week of training under their belt, there’s certainly a strong chance they’d be available for the second leg and eventually for the final if United make it that far. It will be interesting to see whether Amorim looks to give them some minutes in the Premier League this weekend as they aim to get back to full fitness.
