September 2025 Car Launches: The Indian automobile industry is preparing for one of the busiest months of the year. Homegrown and international automakers will be launching multiple electric vehicles (EVs) throughout September 2025. The groundbreaking debut of Maruti Suzuki in the EV segment, Volvo’s stylish premium compact EV, and more are the top models that will be launched this month.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara / e-Escudo
Maruti Suzuki is definitely going to be the last in line to arrive but not without a bang; they are coming with their first fully electric SUV, the e-Vitara (also called e-Escudo). The brand new mid-size SUV is planned for a grand event on or about September 3, 2025. It is the proud moment of the brand to achieve the feat of introducing an EV in India’s EV ecosystem.
The e-Vitara made under the Make-in-India initiative in Maruti’s Gujarat plant will also be on wheels to overseas markets. There will be two types of battery capacities 49 kWh and 61 kWh with estimated ranges of 346–426 km (WLTP). It will also be possible to buy either the rear-wheel drive or the all-wheel drive version as the car will be equally good for city and highway runs.
The interior is equipped with excellent amenities such as a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, ventilated electric seats, panoramic glass roof, wireless charging, and Level 2 ADAS.
It has been reported that the production of Maruti will be affected in the short term due to a shortage of rare-earth materials. However, the launch schedule will go as planned with the time for the pick-up of production later in the year being anticipated. This is the SUV that is going to redefine the terms of EV adoption in India.

Hyundai Creta Electric
Hyundai follows right behind Maruti and is prepared to launch the Creta Electric on September 4, 2025. Creta is one of the leading SUVs in India and the electric version of it is going to make an impression with a combination of the familiar look and state-of-the-art EV technology.
This updated EV model now has a wider range (with upgraded batteries), new features, new colors, and a different pricing strategy to keep it from losing its dominance in the mid-size SUV market. Vietnamese car manufacturer VinFast has announced their official entry into the Indian car market in September 2025, bringing along the VF6 and VF7 SUVs to make an impact. Rumors say that the VF6 and VF7 will be revealed on September 6, 2025.
With the 59.6 kWh battery, the VF6, a compact SUV produces up to 204 hp and has an estimated range of 480 km. It is a city-car-toned vehicle that would touch a price label between ₹20-25 lakh and is aimed at a buyer willing to get a good mixture of style and range.
VF7 is a larger, mid-size SUV that has been designed with the intention of maximizing its power output of 350 hp for the awd version, leaving it with a 431 km range and replacing the old tech with the new one that also includes ADAS features. The projected value is estimated between ₹25-30 lakh.
The move of VinFast adds a dash of international zest to the Indian EV market, allowing the buyers to select more than just the tried and tested Japanese and Korean brands.
Volvo EX30
Volvo is planning to introduce its smallest and most affordable electric vehicle, the EX30, in India by September 25, 2025. The EX30 is a compact SUV with a 69 kWh battery, with a range of up to 480 km on a single charge (WLTP).
EX30 marries the simplicity of Scandinavia’s designs with today’s safety tech. Some of the standout features are the 12.3-inch touchscreen, panoramic glass roof, seven airbags, ADAS features, and the use of sustainable materials for the interior. As a premium EV model, the EX30 will be pitted against the likes of Kia EV6 and BYD Seal, though with Volvo’s well-known emphasis on safety and comfort giving it an edge.
Citroën Basalt X
While it is true that the electric car industry is taking the stage in September, the French carmaker Citroën is getting ready to introduce its new Basalt X, as early as September 5, 2025.
