This actor whom we are discussing witnessed struggles even after entering the Indian cinema. However, after a certain point of time, he established himself as a known face in the industry. Now, it has been more than 5 decades of him being a part of the cinema and during this tenure, he did over 200 movies. If you are unable to take cues and wondering who this actor is, then let us tell you we are talking about the legendary Jeetendra.
Jeetendra made his acting debut in the 1964 Hindi film Geet Gaya Patharon Ne. However, the film turned out to be a huge flop. His major breakthrough in Bollywood came with the film Farz (1967). Over the years, he did many films and was even compared with leading actors such as Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Manoj Kumar and Dharmendra.
In an interview, Jeetendra said that he acted in movies to overcome his financial crisis. In the initial days, media reports claim that the actor lived in slums, had no money, no food and yet he did not give up.
Jeetendra’s life turned when he ventured into production. In 1982, he produced Deedar-e-Yaar. However, it failed at the box office. As a result, the actor faced massive financial loss.
After this, Jeetendra did not produce a single film for 25 years. He handed over the production work to his daughters Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. Out of these, Ekta is the most successful TV producer and she mostly produces serials. She also produced various web series.
