From Bhagyashree to Daisy Shah, many actresses made their debut opposite Salman Khan but struggled to establish successful careers in the industry. Another name on the list is Zareen Khan, who made her Hindi debut in the period war drama Veer, where she starred alongside Salman Khan.

After completing her studies, Zareen took a job at a call centre and later moved on to a role of the corporate front desk at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC). She also worked in promotional activities for several brands and served as an in-house model for them. Her acting career began when Salman Khan first noticed her on the sets of Yuvraaj and decided to cast her in Anil Sharma’s directorial Veer. The film had a modest box office performance, with a worldwide gross of approximately Rs 68.11 crore.

Following that, Zareen starred in multiple films across languages such as Housefull 2, Naan Rajavaga Pogiren, Aksar 2, and Jatt James Bond among others. She also featured in multiple music videos such as Pyaar Manga Hai, Do Vaari Jatt, Chann Chann, and Eid Ho Jayegi.

Zareen initially made major headlines due to her striking resemblance to Katrina Kaif. During her appearance on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, she discussed how this similarity became a hurdle in her career. “Life after Veer was very bad for me, I got a lot of criticism. The film was a life-changing moment for me. Initially, I felt very happy that I was being compared to Katrina Kaif, but within the industry, things kept getting worse. For me, who used to be overweight, being compared to Katrina was huge, but it all backfired.” Zareen said.

Recalling an incident, the actress stated, “There was a time I was even scared to step out of my house because people would comment on my clothes. That comparison went in a very negative way. I was given so many names, that at one point, I wanted to just sit at home. They all saw me as a failure.”

Well, Zareen Khan last appeared in Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele opposite Anshuman Jha. Based on LGBT themes, the movie was a direct release on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar in 2021.
