It was at the end of CitiBank’s management offsite in Miami in 2011 that two of the investment bank’s managing directors decided to use a spare day before flying back to Singapore to visit the Kennedy Space Centre. During the three-hour drive north to the launch site for NASA’s Apollo missions to the moon, Adam Gilmour asked his co-head of corporate sales Lung-Nien Lee what would he do if he had a dream – you know, outside banking.

“I want to be a race car driver,” Lee answered. “What’s yours?”
