Menfi, UN Secretary General review political, security developments in Libya
Presidential Council’s Head Mohammed Menfi discussed the latest political and security developments in Libya with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
The two sides reviewed ways to advance the political process in order to achieve stability and reach comprehensive national elections, according to a statement by the Presidential Council’s media office on Tuesday.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the third United Nations conference on developing countries, hosted in the city of Avaza, Turkmenistan.
It is noteworthy that Menfi took part on Tuesday in the proceedings of the UN’s third conference on developing countries in Avaza, Turkmenistan.
The conference is held under UN auspices, based on a General Assembly resolution adopted last April with the support of 57 member states, according to the Presidential Council’s media office.
More than a thousand participants—including heads of state and government, ministers, experts, and stakeholders from around the world—are attending, with the aim of formulating sustainable solutions to strengthen regional cooperation, improve logistical and trade connectivity, and achieve equity in development.
