New Delhi: Meta is bringing its AI-powered Ray-Ban smart glasses to India, and the official sale begins on May 19. The glasses, first introduced globally in 2023, are priced at ₹29,990 in India and are now available for pre-order on the Ray-Ban website. The company says it has already shipped 2 million pairs globally. With the launch in India, Meta is now pushing its wearable AI strategy into one of the world’s fastest-growing tech markets. While the AI in the glasses currently supports only English, French, Italian, and Spanish, there’s no official word on when Indian language support will arrive.

What can you do with Meta AI on your face?
These aren’t just glasses with speakers. Meta AI adds a layer of interactivity. By saying “Hey Meta,” users can ask for translations, get real-time information, scan QR codes, find out the name of a song, or even ask for recipes based on what’s in their fridge.
The glasses can also livestream to Facebook and Instagram. Users can take calls, switch between their phone and glasses camera during video calls, and control everything with either voice commands or a touchpad on the frame.
Not just tech, but fashion too
Meta and Ray-Ban have kept the classic Wayfarer design but added a bunch of tech under the hood. So if you’re someone who doesn’t want to look like you’re wearing a gadget on your face, these might fit your vibe. The frame blends into casual looks, while quietly packing in AI-powered features.
The glasses pair with the Meta View app for managing settings, syncing content, and taking guided tours of features. You can also use the app to apply effects or share photos with friends.
