M&H Carriers Back Olympic Hopeful

As Heather’s journey continues, Fraser and M&H Carriers remain proud supporters.

M&H CARRIERS has announced its sponsorship of world champion rower 24-year-old Inverness athlete Heather Gordon as she prepares for a critical phase in her training for future international success.

A £500 donation from the company will help cover the costs of upcoming high-performance testing, easing the financial burden of elite-level competition as Heather continues her journey towards Olympic selection for LA 2028.

Fraser MacLean, managing director at M&H Carriers, said: “Heather represents everything we admire – determination, discipline, and a passion for what she does. Her story is one of talent and tenacity, and we’re proud to be part of her journey as she works towards competing on the world’s biggest sporting stage.”

Heather’s rowing career began at the age of 13 with Inverness Rowing Club. After a break during her early twenties, she discovered a new passion in the fast-growing sport of beach sprint rowing, making her Team GB debut at the World Rowing Beach Sprint Championships in Italy towards the end of 2024 – coming home with a gold medal.

However, world champion or not, Heather still has to balance an intense training schedule with her work as a personal fitness and wellbeing coach – a testament to her determination both on and off the water. “I really appreciate the support shown from Fraser and the team at M&H,” Heather shared.

“Living and training in Inverness means I spend more time travelling than others, due to the distances I have to travel. I will often need additional days away to get to camps and competitions, which takes time and adds expense.”

Heather currently trains as part of Scottish Rowing’s performance group with support from the SportScotland Institute of Sport and the Athlete Travel Award Scheme.
