Minda teams up with Qualcomm for next-gen car digital consoles – Car News

The partnership between Minda Corporation and Qualcomm aims to deliver AI-driven, intuitive interfaces, seamless multi-display integration, and software-defined architectures for connected vehicles.

Minda Corporation Limited, the flagship company of the Spark Minda Group, announced its strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to develop smart and advanced cockpit solutions for the Indian automotive market. The company revealed that the new smart interface will be powered by the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform.

At the announcement of the collaboration, Suresh D, Group CTO, Minda Corporation Limited, said, “Our collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies marks a significant milestone in enhancing Minda Corporation’s capabilities in delivering next-generation digital cockpit solutions.

This alliance reflects our commitment to technological leadership and aligns with our long-term vision of delivering intelligent, connected and user-centric experiences that create sustainable value for OEMs, end users and shareholders.”

What to expect from a smart cockpit?

The Snapdragon Digital Chassis is currently available in vehicles like the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e, but the next-generation vehicles will boast state-of-the-art connected and intelligent features that will transform the driving experience.

Qualcomm showcased its technology might with the Mahindra XEV 9e, which comes with a segment-first three 12.3-inch displays, including one for the front passenger. With AI-driven technology, the digital cockpit offers customisation options that meet the needs and preferences of the person behind the wheel. The current generation platform has a fast and intuitive interface with over 230,000 DMIPS (Dhrystone Million Instructions Per Second), making it exceptionally seamless.

In terms of multimedia functions, it offers high-quality visuals, smart voice recognition commands and controls, and high-definition video formats. It offers state-of-the-art entertainment functions and real-time information, which is vital for the driver.
