MongoDB names Aamir Sait as AVP India, eyes AI-era growth
MongoDB has announced the appointment of Aamir Sait as Area Vice President for India. In this role, Sait will lead MongoDB’s operations in India, focusing on expanding customer engagement, strengthening partner ties, and advancing AI-based innovation.
He will report into the ASEAN & India regional leadership and is expected to coordinate closely with MongoDB’s global teams. His responsibilities will include overseeing sales, marketing, partner ecosystems, and supporting developers across India.
Sait arrives with more than 25 years of leadership experience across technology and security sectors. He spent a significant portion of his career at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he played a key role in developing AWS’s India business from its initial market entry phase to a mature, high growth operation. He also held leadership roles at RSA Security and Dell Technologies. More recently, he founded a startup in the cybersecurity space, giving him first-hand experience of technology development in India.
Before joining MongoDB, Sait’s entrepreneurial stint added fresh insights into product development, go-to-market strategies, and responding to local customer needs. At MongoDB he will draw on both his corporate experience and startup perspective to help shape India’s presence in the AI era.
Sachin Chawla, Area Vice President MongoDB, ASEAN & India, said, “Aamir’s role in scaling AWS and his entrepreneurial experience make him uniquely suited to help us capture that opportunity. His passion for people, his strategic vision and his ability to execute with precision will be instrumental as we have an even greater impact for our customers, partners, employees, and the developer community.”
Aamir Sait, Area Vice President MongoDB, India, said, “Technology evolves quickly, especially in the AI era, but at its core, this is still a people business. I’m privileged to work alongside my colleagues, customers, and partners in India, helping them drive transformative change.”
Sait’s education includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of Pune.
