Movies under the Stars returns for 12th season
FLINT, Mich. — Communities First, Inc. is bringing back its popular “Movies Under the Stars” event for a 12th season, with Friday’s event relocated to the Capitol Theatre due to rainy weather.
This year, the outdoor movie series will feature three family-friendly films: “Inside Out 2,” “Toy Story,” and “The Wild Robot.”
Essence Wilson, Chief Strategy Officer of Communities First, said, “The films are selected by a committee and then we also do a community vote, so we may not always get the choices that we want as a staff, but we get the ones that the community want to see.”
Phillip Walker, Program Associate at Communities First, added, “We always have an ear, you know, to the city finding out what, you know, the city wants and how do we do that by asking them.”
In addition to the movies, there will be pre-movie parties on the back lawn of Flint City Hall. The festivities begin at 7:00 p.m., with movies scheduled to start at dusk. Attendees can look forward to food, fun, and prizes for the entire family.
