MSI will now manufacture Katana and Crosshair gaming laptops in India, all we know

MSI is doubling down on its India play. The Taiwanese giant has announced that its flagship gaming laptops, Katana and Crosshair series, now upgraded with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics, will be manufactured in India at its Chennai facility in partnership with Syrma SGS Technology. Until now, the brand had been producing models like the Modern and Katana series in India, but the inclusion of its high-performance Crosshair lineup signals a deeper commitment to the Indian market.

“The inclusion of the Katana and Crosshair laptops with RTX 50 Series Graphics in our ‘Make in India’ portfolio demonstrates our dedication to delivering hi-tech innovation tailored for Indian consumers. These laptops bring the latest in graphics performance, gaming design and durability, made right here in India. We are confident this will not only make our products more accessible but also contribute meaningfully to India’s journey as a global leader in electronics manufacturing.”

About Katana and Crosshair series

The locally manufactured Katana series is aimed at gamers and professionals who want a blend of performance and portability. Powered by RTX 50 Series GPUs, the laptops offer 144Hz+ displays, AI-enhanced visuals, and MSI’s Cooler Boost tech to keep things running smoothly. The prices of the laptops start from ₹95,990.

On the other hand, the Crosshair series is pitched squarely at competitive gamers. With Intel Core processors, high refresh rate panels, and futuristic esports-inspired design, the Crosshair is designed for those who want every possible edge in fast-paced matches. The series will be available at an introductory price of ₹1,89,990.

India has emerged as one of MSI’s fastest-growing markets, driven by surging demand from gamers, creators, and professionals alike. By manufacturing more of its premium devices in India, MSI isn’t just cutting down on costs and improving accessibility. It is also signalling confidence in India’s manufacturing ecosystem, which is fast becoming a global hub for electronics.

With the Katana and Crosshair now rolling off local production lines, MSI is aiming to offer global standards of gaming performance to Indian buyers, while also aligning with the government’s push for domestic electronics manufacturing.
