Mumbai-Jaunpur Vande Bharat Express gets nod: Check details | Utility News

New Delhi: Mumbai-Jaunpur Vande Bharat Express is all set to be operational soon. According to reports, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given in-principle approval to run the Vande Bharat Express from Maharashtra’s Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur. It is learnt that Vaishnav has also ordered a route survey of the new train, which will be conducted soon.

While the approval came after former Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Affairs and BJP State Vice President Kripa Shankar Singh (who hails from Jaunpur district) met the Railway Minister on November 6, he submitted a letter demanding the train service.

He mentioned that the current train service from Mumbai to North India is not comfortable for the passengers. It takes a huge time to cover the distances between major cities in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.

While the former minister stated that Vande Bharat Express (which is a semi-high speed train) will provide great relief to the people of Jaunpur and nearby districts including Varanasi Bhadohi, Pratapgarh and Sultanpur.

Speed of a Rajdhani Express and a Vande Bharat Express

While the Vande Bharat Express (which has been designed to attain a maximum speed of 180 kilometres) is operating at an average speed of 95.89 kilometres per hour, the Rajdhani Express (which can run at a maximum speed of 130–140 kilometre per hour) is operating at an average speed of 81-87 kilometres per hour.

One should note that (According to their average speed) that the Vande Bharat is quite faster than the Rajdhani Express.

Schedule launch of sleeper version of Vande Bharat Express

It is learnt that the Indian Railways is planning to introduce the new variant of Vande Bharat Express in the current fiscal year, i.e., FY 2023–2024. While the exact date and timing of the launch of the Vande Bharat Express have not been revealed, it is speculated that the new version of the Express will hit the track by March 2024.
