Following last year’s success with excellent reviews of both the Heath and Martino Tirimo’s concerts, an enthusiastic audience looks set to give another full house in Allendale on April 26.
The first concert is the Frankland Quartet and Dov Goldberg, on the clarinet, on Saturday, April 26 at 7.30 pm, at St Cuthbert’s, Allendale.
The Frankland Quartet were formed in 2017. Three of their members play in the Royal Northern Sinfonia, based at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, formerly the Sage Gateshead.

Their performance in Allendale will be with the renowned clarinettist, Dov Goldberg. Frankland will be familiar to listeners of BBC Radio 3, and they have a deep commitment to the cultural life of the North East and its communities. Music in Allendale is delighted to welcome them.
Their programme features the beautiful Haydn String Quartet Op 77 no.1 in G, with the all too infrequently aired, Arthur Somervell’s sublime Clarinet Quintet. After an interval with wine and soft drinks, the concert ends with Mozart’s ravishingly beautiful Clarinet Concerto.
As usual, concerts will be held in the acoustic of St Cuthbert’s Church, Allendale, where there is always a warm and welcoming ambience.
Following the concert, the audience is invited to join in a light supper, served in the church hall, which is included in the ticket price, during which there will be an opportunity to relax and meet musicians. Wine and soft drinks will be available from the bar.
