Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has finally received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2025, which resumes on May 17 with a clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

However, according to reports from ESPNcricinfo, he has been granted the NOC only for the league stage matches. He will be unavailable for the playoff games if the Delhi Capitals manage to qualify.

The BCB also mentioned that he will be part of Bangladesh’s first T20I against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday before traveling to India. However, it is not yet confirmed whether he will be available for Delhi Capitals IPL clash against Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Earlier this week, the Bangladesh pacer was named as the replacement for Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, who pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons. However, the situation became unclear when the BCB stated that Mustafizur had not yet requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Faf du Plessis and Tristan Stubbs have rejoined DC for the remainder of the IPL 2025. Meanwhile Mitchell Starc has opted out of the IPL because of national commitment as the World Test Championship between Australia and South Africa is scheduled to commence from June 3rd. Mitchell Starc was the leading wicket-taker for DC in IPL 2025, as he took 14 wickets in 11 matches.

Mustafizur Rahman has been purchased for Rs 6 crore by DC. He has played 57 matches in IPL and has taken 61 wickets so far.

DC will be facing Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, and Punjab Kings in their next three matches. They are currently at the fifth position in IPL points table with 13 points in 11 matches.
