Myanmar, India vow to sustain friendship, defence cooperation

SSPC Vice-Chairman, Defence Services Deputy C-in-C, Commander -in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win receives the Indian delegation led by Defence Secretary Mr Rajesh Kumar Singh of the Ministry of Defence yesterday.

Vice-Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win received a delegation led by Defence Secretary Mr Rajesh Kumar Singh of the Ministry of Defence of India at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
At the meeting, they cordially discussed good relations between governments and armed forces of both countries, further promotion of cooperation in all sectors through bilateral trust, respect and friendship between Myanmar and India and two armed forces, conducting of training between the two armed forces, cooperation in stability of border regions, rule of law, security and development measures, and continuous sustaining of good diplomatic relations and friendship between the two countries and the two armed forces.
Also present at the meeting were Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye and senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief. The Indian delegation, led by the Defence Secretary of India’s Ministry of Defence, was accompanied by Defence Attaché to Myanmar Colonel Jaswinder Singh Gill and officials of the Indian Armed Forces.
After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General and the Indian Defence Secretary exchanged commemorative gifts and had documentary photos taken together with the attendees. — MNA/TTA
