Nabta Health has secured investment from Phoenix Venture Partners as the UAE women’s healthcare company expands its business with employers, insurers and healthcare providers, building on services originally sold directly to patients.

The Abu Dhabi venture firm led the second close of Nabta’s ongoing $3 million pre-Series A through a combination of new equity and purchases from existing shareholders. The amount raised at this close, PVP’s contribution and the split between the two weren’t disclosed.

Founded in 2017 by Sophie Smith, Nabta combines digital consultations, at-home diagnostics and clinical services to support women through fertility, pregnancy, menopause and other health needs. Its expansion into workplace healthcare draws on that model, offering screening and continuing care through organisations that pay for or provide health services.

The company’s employer offering includes annual health checks covered by insurance, preventive care subscriptions and help navigating treatment, supported by its AI assistant Aya. Nabta says the aim is to identify health risks earlier and coordinate follow-up care, helping employers and insurers manage longer-term healthcare costs. It’s also partnered with employee wellbeing platform LVL to offer corporate clients a combination of clinical services and digital wellbeing support.

That expansion was already under way when Nabta announced $2 million in pre-Series A funding in November 2025, with plans to broaden its diagnostic services and develop hospital partnerships. The latest announcement describes the financing as an ongoing $3 million round, without specifying how much has now been committed in total.

Alongside its digital services, Nabta has built a physical care network through partnerships such as its Women’s Health Centre of Excellence with Clemenceau Medical Center Hospital Dubai, launched in June 2025. The centre brings together specialists in reproductive health, hormonal conditions, mental health and preventive medicine, providing a clinical base for services that extend beyond screening.

PVP’s investment comes with a board change that formalises an existing connection between the two businesses. Its co-founder and non-executive director, Mussaad Al-Razouki, was a founding investor in Nabta and previously served as its executive chairman. He will leave Nabta’s board, with PVP founder and chief executive Steve Khayat joining as the firm’s representative.

Khayat said the priority was now to turn Nabta’s investment in technology and clinical infrastructure into faster sales growth. “Our role at PVP will be to work alongside Sophie and the team to deepen strategic partnerships, accelerate customer acquisition and help translate that traction into scalable growth,” he said.

The new funding will support that commercial expansion, with Nabta seeking further relationships across the employer, insurance and healthcare markets.
