National theatre reignites live music with ‘LIVE IN SONG’ music concert
The performance marks the theatre’s return to live music programming, offering audiences an intimate evening where Afro-jazz, soul, folk, and tradition converge in a celebration of sound and storytelling.
The National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) proudly presents ‘Live in Song’, a one-night-only concert featuring acclaimed Namibian artists Erna Chimu, Waters and Sagarias Tsam on Saturday, 30 August, at 19:00 at the NTN.
Three powerful voices are set to come together on one stage for an evening of music rooted in emotion, culture and creative expression. This concert marks the return of live music programming at the NTN and offers audiences an immersive experience that blends Afro-jazz, soul, folk, R&B, blues and traditional elements.
In a special highlight, Erna Chimu will be performing songs from her newly released album, ‘/Nanub,’ live for the first time. Known for her deeply soulful compositions, her performance promises a powerful moment in her decades-spanning career. “As an artist, I don’t just create music. I breathe life into the stories and emotions that connect us all. My music is a reflection of my soul,” says Chimu.
Don’t miss it!
Joining her is Waters, who brings a fresh, boundary-pushing sound: “This live set will be an immersive sound journey exploring emotional depth, personal reflection, and spiritual growth through original compositions. Drawing from Afro-fusion, alt-R&B, and pop-jazz, the performance will blend storytelling, rhythm, and rich vocal delivery to resonate with both old souls and new listeners.”
Completing the trio is Sagarias Tsam, known for his deeply personal and culturally reflective songwriting: “I play music to inspire people, especially people of my own country. It’s something I like. I put my personal life out there through my music, and by that, I am also telling the history of my culture, how it used to be in the early days.”
Together, the artists bring unique perspectives and sounds to the stage, offering an evening that honours both tradition and innovation. Secure your seat now, spread the word, and be part of an evening that promises to stay with you long after the final note. Tickets to the concert are available from Webtickets for N$250.
