Netflix Action Series ‘The Night Agent’ Season 3 Wraps Filming

Every streamer is now looking for the next Reacher, and Netflix has come damn close with their smash-hit action thriller series, The Night Agent. The first season of the series, which follows a low-level FBI Agent who finds himself at the center of a dangerous conspiracy while manning the phones during a night shift, landed back in 2023, with the second season debuting earlier this year. Now, fans have gotten the update they’ve been waiting for regarding the release of The Night Agent Season 3.

Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent centers on a lowly FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office. The first season was met with a positive response from both critics and audiences alike, landing respective scores of 75% and 78% on Rotten Tomatoes. While the second season proved to be far more divisive, fans are eager to return to the action-packed world of The Night Agent, and Season 3 just took a major step closer.

Netflix’s cancelation of ‘The Recruit’ makes space for Shawn Ryan’s ‘S.W.A.T.’ to take its place on the streamer.

Creator Shawn Ryan has now taken to X/Twitter to reveal that The Night Agent Season 3 has now wrapped, saying, “New York, Washington, D.C., Turkey, Mexico, Dominican Republic… We hit them all. Season 3 of #TheNightAgent has officially wrapped production.” Season 3 promises to be the most epic outing for The Night Agent yet, taking Gabriel Basso’s FBI agent Peter Sutherland all over the globe after he finds himself in an even deadlier situation than ever before.

When Will ‘The Night Agent’ Season 3 Hit Netflix?

The Night Agent was renewed for a third season back in October last year, with both seasons of the action thriller series racking up hundreds of millions of views. Gabriel Basso returns to lead The Night Agent Season 3, with the likes of Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ward Horton, and Albert Jones having now been bumped up to series regulars. Newcomers to the cast include Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Moyer, Genesis Rodriguez, Callum Vinson, David Lyons, Chibuikem Uche, and Michael Masini. While we don’t yet have a release date, with production wrapping, it’s likely that The Night Agent Season 3 will follow Season 2 and land on Netflix in January 2026.

While more specific details remain under wraps (those who have seen Season 2 will have at least some idea of where things are going), creator Shawn Ryan has teased a “bigger and even better” third season of the popular action series.
