New academic pathways at Applied Science University

Applied Science University (ASU), Bahrain’s highest-ranked university according to QS World University Rankings 2025, proudly announces the launch of its officially accredited Bridging Programme, making it the first private university in the Kingdom to be formally granted this academic pathway. This milestone offers diploma holders the chance to advance their qualifications and earn a bachelor’s degree within two to two-and-a-half years, depending on their field of study.

Admissions are now open for the new intake, with bridging opportunities available in Computer Science as well as dual-award British engineering degrees delivered in partnership with London South Bank University (LSBU). These include BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering, BEng (Hons) Architectural Engineering, BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering, and BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

ASU’s academic distinction lies not only in the breadth of its programmes but also in the internationally recognised quality of its education. The university has earned the prestigious QS 5-Star rating, placing it among the most reputable institutions in the region, and remains the first university in Bahrain accredited by the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) across all its programmes. Through state-of-the-art facilities, a research-driven teaching environment, and a distinguished faculty with international expertise, ASU ensures that its graduates receive degrees of the highest calibre—equipping them with knowledge and competencies that are globally competitive and highly valued by employers.

ASU is also welcoming diploma holders into its broader portfolio of undergraduate programmes taught in Arabic and English, including Business Administration, Accounting, Accounting and Finance, Political Science, Management Information Systems, Law, Graphic Design, and Interior Design. Additional dual-award British degrees such as the LLB (Hons) Law and BA (Hons) Business Management, also in collaboration with LSBU, are available.

Professor Hatem Masri, President of ASU, emphasised that the bridging programme reflects the university’s forward-looking vision to provide cutting-edge academic opportunities across the region, particularly to students from Saudi Arabia. He noted that the initiative strengthens students’ academic and practical competencies to meet regional and international labour market needs.

Professor Masri added that ASU takes pride in being a destination for ambitious students who are determined to complete their higher education and achieve their future goals. He invited students and residents in Saudi Arabia to reach out via WhatsApp at +973 6663 3770 for more details, stressing that ASU delivers a dynamic academic environment, full student support services, and internationally recognised programmes designed to prepare graduates for leadership and excellence.
