New India Envoy Amararam Gujar eyeing for ATM strategy promotion

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The newly Indian envoy Amararam Gujar says is eying the promotion of Malawi’s Agriculture, Tourism and Mining (ATM) strategy promotion as his first assignment in the country.

Ambassador Gujar was speaking on Monday, August 26 at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe when he presented letters of credential to President Lazarus Chakwera.

Chakwera also received letters of credentials from Anne Sofie Bjelland, Ambassador Designate of the United Kingdom Norway.

Speaking to the media Envoy Gujar said India and Malawi have always enjoyed very friendly and cordial relations and that India was one of the few countries in the world which immediately recognized and established diplomatic relations with Malawi in 1964.

He added that Malawi has great potential, especially in the area of agriculture, food processing as well as mining and tourism.

In her remarks, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Patricia Kainga Nangozo said the coming of the two envoys is a privilege for the country to cement the already existing ties with the two countries in the areas of good governance, agriculture as well as health.

Since coming into office in the year 2020, President Chakwera has established strong bilateral ties with a number of countries as a springboard to help Malawi advance it’s interests, build mutual understanding, and create opportunities for collaboration
