DJ Gigola releases second EP exploring her take on big room sounds
DJ Gigola has landed back on LIVE FROM EARTH with a new EP titled ‘Bigroom Sensual II’.
The bolshy two-tracker follows on from the first instalment of the series in 2024, described as fitting “somewhere in the empty space between early 2000s technoid sounds and the harder, faster rhythm of a new generation of dancers”.
“With this EP, I wanted to explore how I could weave EDM into my core sound without compromising it,” says DJ Gigola. “Lately, EDM has been a major source of inspiration for me—no other genre represents bigroom sound quite like it does. At the same time, its distinctive character is hard to translate into other genres. I became fascinated by the idea of cracking open that sound and finding a way to play with it. Both tracks on the EP incorporate EDM elements without fully crossing into the genre; instead, they oscillate between my personal bigroom sound and EDM—each in its own way.”
