Nick Sirianni coaches Eagles to Super Bowl 59 win over Chiefs
Nick Sirianni guided the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl title Sunday night, becoming the first University of the Mount Union graduate to win a Super Bowl as a head coach. His Eagles routed the Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.
Mount Union grad Dom Capers won a Super Bowl as a defensive coordinator with the Green Bay Packers.
Sirianni coached the Eagles to their second Super Bowl in three years, having lost to the Chiefs two years ago.
Sirianni wrapped up his fourth season as head coach of the Eagles with the victory Sunday night. He’s guided the Eagles to the playoffs each of his four seasons as their coach. This is his first head coaching job.
His record with the Eagles is 48-20 (.706) in the regular season. He’s 6-3 in the playoffs.
Sirianni also won three NCAA Division III national championships as a wide receiver at Mount Union in the early 2000s. He added a fourth title as a coach on Larry Kehres’ staff.
Sirianni is the only Eagles head coach to lead Philadelphia to multiple Super Bowls. He also became just the third NFL coach ever to reach two Super Bowls in his first four years as an NFL head coach, joining Joe Gibbs and Mike Tomlin.
