Nifty 50 top gainers this week: Shriram Finance, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance and Axis Bank
India’s domestic equity markets, Sensex and Nifty 50, witnessed their steepest fall in nearly five months on Friday, February 28, 2025, as foreign capital outflows and concerns over US tariff policies dragged the benchmarks down. The NSE benchmark Nifty 50 also posted its longest monthly losing streak since 1996, raising concerns among investors.
The BSE Sensex plummeted 1,414.33 points (1.90%) to close at 73,198.10. During the trading session, it hit an intraday low of 73,141.27, marking a sharp decline of 1,471.16 points (1.97%). Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 fell 420.35 points (1.86%) to 22,124.70, extending its losing streak to eight consecutive sessions.
Nifty 50 Top Gainers This Week
Despite the bearish market sentiment, a few stocks managed to post gains, reflecting resilience in specific sectors. Let’s take a look at the top gainers of Nifty 50 this week:
Shriram Finance Ltd. saw a notable increase in its stock price, closing at 617.3, up by 1.7% (10.50 points). Over the past week, the stock has gained 5.5%.
HDFC Bank Ltd. recorded a 1.9% (31.70 points) increase, closing at 1732.4. Despite this positive movement, its weekly growth stood at 2.4%.
In contrast, Bajaj Finance Ltd. faced a decline, dropping by 2.0% (175.10 points) to 8530.3. However, the stock still saw a 1.6% gain over the past week.
Axis Bank Ltd. remained relatively stable, witnessing a slight dip of 0.1% (1.15 points) to 1015.6. Over the last week, the stock rose by 0.7%.
