Nissan Marks World Environment Day with Solar-Run Dealerships and Clean Fuel Initiatives – Asia Pacific
Nissan Motor India celebrated World Environment Day by installing solar power systems at seven dealerships nationwide, ensuring 100 percent renewable energy for operations and feeding excess power to the grid, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.

As per the firm’s statement, the company has completed the installation of grid-connected solar electricity systems at seven of its dealerships across India, including Acuity Nissan in Baroda, Aarav Nissan in Mehsana, three locations under EVM Nissan in Kerala, Dada Nissan in Jalandhar, and Roshan Nissan in Jaipur. These systems now fully power both showroom and workshop operations, with surplus energy being fed back into the grid, significantly reducing the dealerships’ reliance on conventional energy sources.

As part of its World Environment Day activities, Nissan hosted a sapling plantation initiative across all dealerships and workshops nationwide. Customers were invited to plant a tree, with each sapling tagged with the customer’s name and vehicle number as a symbolic gesture of their individual contribution to a greener tomorrow. In addition, participantsl received a ‘Green Service Certificate’ and seed packets to encourage further tree planting beyond dealership premises.
Nissan has also trimmed plastic usage in packaging materials by 15 percent, reaffirming its commitment to environmentally responsible practices across its supply chain. Adding to its clean mobility efforts, Nissan recently launched a government-certified CNG retrofitment kit for its best-selling Magnite SUV. Priced at INR 74,999, the kit is targeted at sustainability-conscious buyers and offers enhanced fuel efficiency with no performance trade-offs. The retrofit option is currently available across seven states,Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka.
The company continues to deliver solid performance on both domestic and export fronts. For FY2024–25, Nissan recorded sales of over 99,000 units, its best in the past seven years.
The Nissan Magnite played a pivotal role in this growth, contributing over 28,000 units in annual domestic sales. Export figures also reached new highs, with more than 71,000 units shipped to over 65 global markets, further cementing India’s status as a strategic export hub for the brand.
