OCD, World Bank vow to enhance partnership

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the World Bank (WB) on Wednesday reaffirmed their partnership to enhance disaster risk reduction and management in the Philippines.

This developed during meeting between OCD and WB officials in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon city, underscoring more than a decade of collaboration between through development financing, technical assistance, and knowledge-sharing aimed at strengthening disaster and climate resilience.

OCD administrator Undersecretary Harold Cabreros led the Philippine delegation, joined by assistant secretaries Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV, Henry Robinson Jr., and Cesar Idio. Senior World Bank officials in attendance consisted of Yoonhee Kim, Sudeshna Ghosh Banerjee, Fides Borja, Robert Reid, and Lizardo Narvaez Marulanda.

“We deeply value the World Bank’s more than a decade of partnership with the Philippine Government in disaster risk reduction management through development financing, technical assistance, and knowledge-sharing,” Cabreros said.
