Odisha Holds Crucial Meeting Amid Rising HMPV Cases in India | Pragativadi
In response to the recent detection of multiple Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases across India, Odisha’s Health Department, led by Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, convened an emergency meeting to discuss preventive measures and enhance surveillance.
During the meeting, Dr. Neelakantha Mishra, a senior health official, confirmed that no HMPV cases have been reported in Odisha so far. However, he emphasized the importance of vigilance and proactive measures to prevent the virus from spreading to the state.
The Health Department has decided to ramp up surveillance and monitoring efforts, particularly in areas with high population density and frequent travel. Hospitals and healthcare facilities have been instructed to stay alert and report any suspected cases of HMPV immediately.
Minister Mahaling reassured the public that the state government is taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents. He urged people to follow health guidelines and stay informed about the latest developments.
The meeting concluded with a call for continued cooperation between state and central health authorities to effectively manage the situation and prevent a potential outbreak.
