OGUNQUIT, Maine — Ogunquit Performing Arts will present the 33rd Capriccio Music Festival this September, bringing together music, art, and community.

The festival kicks off Saturday, Sept. 6, with the Capriccio Festival of Kites at Ogunquit’s Main Beach from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free and open to all, the event features kite-making workshops, children’s competitions, and professional demonstrations. Attendees can purchase kites on-site or craft their own, culminating in the “Grand Ascension,” a breathtaking display of color as dozens of kites fill the sky.

Adding to the day’s festivities, local musicians Joyce Andersen and Harvey Reid will perform live sets at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Andersen is a violinist and vocalist known for her electro-acoustic style, while Reid is a master of acoustic instruments and genre fusion. The York-based duo continues to share their music online, livestreaming daily songs through March 2026.

The festival concludes Saturday, Sept. 13, with a ticketed jazz performance by the Tom Snow Jazz Quartet featuring saxophonist Ralph Norris. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. upstairs at Jonathan’s Restaurant, 92 Bourne Lane. Tickets are $29 and include automatic upgrades to front seating, subject to availability. Dinner and drink packages are also available.

Tom Snow, a celebrated songwriter whose work has been performed by artists ranging from Bonnie Raitt to Selena, returns to his early passion for jazz piano. He’ll be joined by bassist Rick McLaughlin, drummer Phil McGowan, and longtime collaborator Ralph Norris — each a seasoned performer with deep ties to New England’s music scene.

Capriccio 2025 is supported by local sponsors, including Cricket’s Corner Beach and Toy, Ogunquit Rotary, Kennebunk Savings, That Place in Ogunquit, and the town of Ogunquit.
