Oman-India forum explores new economic horizons

NEW DELHI, SEPT 13

As part of the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts to strengthen its international economic relations and support the diversification objectives of Oman Vision 2040, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, represented by Invest Oman, participated in the FICCI LEADS 2025 Forum hosted in New Delhi. The event brought together leading business figures and international experts to discuss global trade issues, the green economy, innovation and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

In this context, Invest Oman organised the “Advantage Oman — India” Business Dialogue, a roundtable that gathered prominent investors and executives of leading Indian companies. The session focused on priority sectors for both sides, including mining, pharmaceuticals and real estate development, with the aim of showcasing Oman’s promising investment opportunities and reinforcing economic and trade cooperation between Muscat and New Delhi.

The dialogue served as an effective platform for direct engagement between the Omani and Indian business communities, fostering opportunities for partnerships and joint investments that advance mutual interests. The Omani delegation also presented the Sultanate of Oman’s key competitive advantages, including its strategic geographic location, long-term stability, major ongoing projects and a wide array of incentives and enablers designed to improve the investment climate.

IIbtisam bint Ahmed al Faroojiyah, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment Promotion, emphasised that the organisation of this dialogue reflects Oman’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with the Republic of India. She noted that the event provided an ideal platform for direct engagement with the Indian business community and for highlighting the unique opportunities that position Oman as an attractive destination for high-value investments.

“Oman offers a competitive investment environment supported by government facilitation and strategic projects that open broad horizons for sustainable growth”, she added.

Pankaj Kanaksi Gokaldas Khimji, Adviser for External Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, underscored that Oman attaches great importance to building strategic partnerships with India, guided by a clear vision to enhance its role as a regional investment hub.

He stated: “This dialogue represents a pivotal step towards expanding avenues of cooperation with the Indian business community and showcasing the competitive advantages that Oman offers to support business growth and joint investments”.

The “Advantage Oman – India” Business Dialogue forms part of a series of international promotional initiatives led by the Sultanate of Oman, through Invest Oman and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, to consolidate its position as a regional investment hub and to establish effective economic partnerships with global markets. The Republic of India is recognised as a strategic and promising partner across several key sectors.
