Osgood Perkins Announces New Film ‘The Young People’ Starring Lola Tung & Nico Parker

After three movies in less than two years, Osgood Perkins shows no signs of showing down.

Neon has announced a new “bad trip” from the prolific writer-director titled The Young People, with production set to begin this fall in Vancouver.

Lola Tung (The Summer I Turned Pretty) and Nico Parker (“The Last of Us”) will star.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, per usual, but the script image below includes a mention of The Old Ones. Could Perkins be going Lovecraftian?

Neon, which has a first-look deal with Perkins, will co-finance the film with Lyrical Media for a theatrical release. Perkins is producing with his partner Chris Ferguson for Phobos and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones for Range.

Perkin’s Longlegs was the highest-grossing independent film of last year. He followed it up with the Stephen King adaptation The Monkey earlier this year.

His next film, Keeper, is due out on November 14. Written by Nick Lepard (Dangerous Animals), it stars Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”) and Rossif Sutherland (Possessor).

Keeper follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.
