Pace, Washington and Navarre all in region tourney
The country’s fastest growing sport is quickly approaching the regional playoffs.
The Florida High School Athletic Association released the 2025 state tournament brackets on April 18, along with updated rankings for all classifications. Full brackets are available on MaxPreps.
District tournaments concluded around the state on April 17. Region tournaments for all classes begin on April 23 with the quarterfinals. That begins the road to Tampa for the state championships at the AdventHealth Training Center.
Only one area team was guaranteed a spot in the postseason with Pace winning the District 1-3A crown over Niceville. The Patriots are looking to return to the state Final Four after a magical run in 2024, falling to the ultimate state champions in Palmetto.
Two other teams made the regional tournament with Navarre and Booker T. Washington making it, despite falling in their district semifinals.
Here are how the brackets shape up. The full regional rankings are listed below the four region brackets. Teams with an asterisk (*) are the host for the region quarterfinals.
Region 1-3A
- 1. Pace (1)* vs. 8. Bartram Trail (3)
- 2. Chiles (2)* vs. 7. Navarre (1)
- 3. Fletcher (3)* vs. 6. Fleming Island (3)
- 4. Ponte Vedra (3) vs. 5. Oviedo (4)*
Dates: Quarterfinals: April 23 | Semifinals: April 28 | Finals: May 1
Notes: The Region 1-3A bracket will run through Pace, as long as the Patriots keep winning. Pace will host Bartram Trail in the quarterfinals of the region tournament. Navarre, despite falling in the district semifinals to Niceville, gets in as the No. 7 seed but has to go on the road to Chiles, which won the District 2 championship game.
Region 1-2A
- 1. Choctaw (1)* vs. 8. Booker T. Washington (1)
- 2. Ed White (4)* vs. 7. Godby (2)
- 3. Paxon (3)* vs. 6. Fort Walton Beach (1)
- 4. Yulee (3)* vs. 5. Stanton (3)
Dates: Quarterfinals: April 23 | Semifinals: April 28 | Finals: May 1
Notes: Booker T. Washington, despite falling in the district semifinals to Fort Walton Beach, snuck into the region playoffs as the No. 8 seed with an at-large bid. But the Wildcats have a tough task ahead at Choctaw, one of the top-ranked teams in the state. The region tournament goes through Choctaw if the Indians keep winning.
